Disulfidptosis, a recently identified form of programmed cell death, is initiated by depletion of endogenous nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) under glucose starvation. Tumor cells, owing to their heightened requirements of energy and nutrients, are more susceptible to disulfidptosis than normal cells.
